Red Maps are a series of foldout guides to metropolitan cities in the United States and Europe. Red Maps contain detailed information on everything you need visiting a new city.
MoreJim Leniart is the owner and creator of Red Maps. He began his career in commercial real estate drawing maps for clients. Jim's decision to become a full time cartographer led to the creation of Red Maps, which he founded in 1998. The new Red Maps were brought to the editors of the largest media companies in the city. Recommendations soon came from The NYTimes, Elle and Town & Country. Travel & Leisure named the Red Map San Francisco as one of the best maps to that city, as well as being included in Gear Magazine's Top 100 Travel Aids.
A commitment to good design resulted in a number of wonderful projects. Red Maps created custom maps/props for the movie I Am Legend and the television show Gossip Girl. In fashion, we've made the official maps of LondonFashionWeek from 2007-2011 and our graphics have been used by designer Angel Chang for her spring line. In 2008, Japanese artist Ryuta Iida transformed Red Maps into art pieces for his gallery show.
Red Maps has provided free guides for charitable organizations' fundraisers, including AidforAIDS, ACRIA and the New York Botanical Garden.
