NIO COCKTAIL MANHATTAN BOX

Manhattan is a cocktail which has been in the spotlight right from its creation: legend has it that it was created around 1870 at the “Manhattan Club” in New York by Iain Marshall for a reception held by Jennie Jerome (i.e. Lady Randolph Churchill, the mother of Winston Churchill) in honour of the presidential candidate Samuel J. Tilden.

Its success made the drink very fashionable and led people to ask for it by referring to the bar where it was created, i.e. the “Manhattan”. Thanks to rapid word of mouth, the cocktail soon became very popular also in Europe, probably helped by its name which is a perfect synthesis of the Big Apple in a glass.
